"Our Lord Jesus Gave Us Christmas"was so beautifully written. The words had to come from Norma's heart. You can't pick words like she used out of thin air. So many beautiful poems to choose from but I do especially love this one. The background, graphic and especially the music made such a beautiful story. Another beautiful work of art Judy. Thank you and God Bless.

My wife also had a massive stroke in June of 2001. She never recovered and the Lord took her home June 21, 2001. I met the most wonderful person at our 50th High School Class reunion in Sept. 2001. She lost her husband after a 5 year fight of cancer and died 6 months before my wife. We started out as friends but this ended in our marriage in February of 2002. We both feel so fortunate to again have a significant other. Have a wonderful New Year.

Dear Norma,
I wish you well in fighting this terrible disease called cancer. I
also thank you for your prayer as I'm now praying that you come through your surgery and will be on the road to recovery real soon. Norma, the poem that helped me through many rough moments ans it still is helping me is "I Refuse" I'm going to insert the poem in this get well wish for you my friend.
Love, Sandy L.
I Refuse

I refuse to be discouraged
To be sad, or to cry;
I refuse to be downhearted
And here's the reason why.

I have a God who's mighty
Who's sovereign and supreme;
I have a God who loves me
And I am on His team.

He is all wise and powerful
Jesus is His name;
Though everything is changeable
My God remains the same.

My God knows all that's happening
Beginning to the end,
His presence is my comfort
He is my dearest friend.

When sickness comes to weaken me
To bring my head down low,
I call upon my mighty God
Into His arms I go.

When circumstances threaten
To rob me from my peace;
He draws me close unto His breast,
Where all my striving's cease.

And when my heart melts within me
And weakness takes control;
He gathers me into His arms
He soothes my heart and soul.

The great "I AM" is with me
My life is in His hand,
The "Son of the Lord" is my hope
It's in His strength I stand.

I refuse to be defeated
My eyes are on my God;
He has promised to be with me
As through this life I trod.

I'm looking past all my circumstances
To Heaven's throne above;
My prayers have reached the heart of God,
I'm resting in His love.

I give God thanks in everything
My eyes are on His face;
The battle's His, the victory is mine;
He'll help me win the race.

Norma, I can't believe I typed and lost a whole message..so I shall try again. As a Hospice Volunteer, I can only imagine your gallant battle and continue to pray that you will overcome...with the knowledge that through God and prayer, nothing is impossible. You must know that you are indeed an inspiration to so many who suffer from similar illnesses, helping them to realize how precious each moment of life is. I'm so sorry about the loss of your dear friend Pat Ford and I regret that I didn't do a better job of keeping up with her 'work'. I have a couple of poems saved but you all are so talented, and there are so many, that it does make it a challenge for me to keep up...but I do my best because I recognize your gifts, recognize the effort it takes for you, and know that God gave you the wisdom to write so beautifully. Thanks to Judy I am able to do a better job of keeping up with your inspiring work .. and am using it to inspire others who battle each day with like courage. God Bless you and Happy Holidays to you and yours, Jo Ann S.
